Rosi Amador, Director
Deeply influenced by popular Latin music, jazz, North American folk, blues and contemporary African vocal styles, Rosi was one of the founding members of Flor de Caņa, and managed the ensemble for ten years. She has also worked as managing director for the Underground Railway Theater, a national touring theater company based in the Boston area, and as assistant manager of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, producing concerts from Symphony Hall to Lincoln Center. In her role as booking agent and publicist for Sol y Canto, Rosi has worked with venues - and audiences - of all kinds, including the Smithsonian, the Vancouver and Winnipeg folk festivals, Wolftrap, Emory University, Oberlin College, the Children's Museum in Boston, La Peņa in Berkeley, CA , the Crossroads Arts Council in Rutland, VT , and many others. Her extensive experience working with presenters, providing advance publicity, advertising and graphics, and tour support led to the establishment of MusicAmador, a booking agency devoted to the music she knows - and loves - best. Since 2003 she is also the Vice-President of the Latin Music division and Performing Arts Division of The Roots Agency, a full-service agency representing outstanding roots music including Latin, Celtic, North American Folk and Blues. She lives in Cambridge, MA with Brian and their identical twins, Sonia and Alisa. |
